Team GIJoe - The Reunion

Many people probably don’t know that I’m a closet gamer and that I started a gaming team, commonly known in gaming circles, as a “clan” about 8 years ago. The name of the team was provided by one of our members and we became Team GIJoe. We play FPS (first person shooter) games. I’m known as GIJoe*Duke and I’m the old man of the bunch. I bet you feel geekier just reading this. I do just writing it.

Anyway, Team GIJoe played for quite a few years dominating every game in which we competed. We started with Ghost Recon moved to RVS, Battlefield, etc.

I’ve gotten together with the guys a few times over the years - they’ve visited me and I’ve visited them.

Today 4 of them are coming to visit me here in L.A. It’s an interesting group of guys. We’re all different. Some of us are American, some Canadian. A couple are orthodox Jews, a couple are atheists. Some are Nobamas and some are Probamas.

We’re all REAL gamers though and we’re damned good players. All of us are the kind of player that can be the last guy on the team against 5 other “baddies” and pull out the win in a Last Man Standing match. We play mostly for fun these days on public servers. We still get recognized by older players when they see our tags. We’re considering a comeback, lol.
